Finally in Denver

What was originally planned as a 2 day trip has turned into a week long ordeal. That said, 1,500 miles, 19 hours of flying, and 6 states (flew over 8 states) later, I'm finally here. Today's flight was probably the longest non-stop leg I've ever flown at 5hrs and 10min from Salina, KS to Erie, CO. Its a little weird because my initial altitude was 8000ft which was around 7000ft above the ground in Kansas. After a couple hours of flying the ground gradually grew closer with the height above ground lessened to roughly 3000ft. I guess I'm more accustomed to Washington where you go from 700ft elevation to 7000ft elevation in a matter of minutes.

I've never been to Denver and I have to say I'm pretty impressed so far. We'll see how ATC feels about us flying flight lines over KDEN at 9500ft.

Here's a few more pics:

Kansas... pretty much looks like this everywhere.

Goodland, KS (KGLD)

Eastern Colorado... looks just like Kansas. That John Denver's full of shit, man...
